Open Reality has entered into an agreement to distribute Allegro Packets’ Network Multimeters within the UK. The Allegro Network Multimeter is a troubleshooting tool designed to lighten the load for network administrators. By displaying and correlating all data traffic, IT experts can locate network errors in seconds to quickly resolve network problems and performance bottlenecks.
With a strong track record of measuring wired network traffic, a recent firmware update extends the capabilities of the Allegro Network Multimeter and enables users to analyse Wi-Fi networks with a separate USB antenna. By connecting up-to 16 USB adaptors, a large number of channels can be analysed in parallel across the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHZ, and 6 GHz frequency bands. The update also enables analysis of layers L2 to L7 of wireless networks using optional WPA2-PSK decryption.
This recent enhancement will provide network teams the ability to measure wired vs wireless application performance, which can be crucial to understanding the root cause of perceived Wi-Fi issues. By providing this data both in real time and retrospectively, the platform is perfect for troubleshooting intermittent issues which can be difficult to resolve if they cannot be recreated.
Allegro’s product range with flexible configuration are suitable for any size of business or any quantity of traffic, in short there is an Allegro appliance to suit every operation and at a very competitive price point.
Small portable units such as the Allegro 500 are suitable for 1G networks with up to 4TB ring buffer storage and up to 200,000 parallel connections and are the perfect addition to an engineer’s toolkit to quickly troubleshoot network issues on the network.
Core networks with large amounts of data and different locations require systems with high recording, analysis and storage rates. The rack mounted Allegro x310, x410, and x510 series can perform retrospective analysis for up to 600,000 IP addresses and 64 million concurrent connections with ring buffer storage capacity up to 678 TB.
Craig Charles, Sales Director of Open Reality said: “We’re really excited to be partnering with Allegro Packets. As market leaders in affordable network analysis and troubleshooting solutions, we have been very impressed with their recent product developments to support Wi-Fi analysis. Given Wi-Fi is frequently blamed as the cause of slow performance, our wireless community will value a solution that provides retrospective visibility to compare wired and wireless performance. We also love Allegro’s range of smaller portable units, which will complement existing Wi-Fi survey toolkits and professional services offerings, whilst their mid-size rack mounted and larger data centre units with flexible configuration, are easy to use and deploy, and at a very competitive price point in the market.”
Katrin Pflugfelder, Managing Director of Allegro Packets GmbH said: “We’re excited to partner with Open Reality and bring our solutions to a larger partner base and subsequent customers. This will allow us to reach a wider audience and help more organisations troubleshoot their networks both fixed and wireless, as well as maintain their Enterprise-wide visibility. Together, Open Reality and Allegro Packets can now provide customers with a best-in-class solution for managing network performance, helping them to achieve greater network efficiency and reliability.”
